The Escalante Canyons Group for Art and Humanities is an independent, unaffiliated non-profit organization, founded in 1996. Its goal is to promote the arts and humanities for Escalante residents and visitors alike. ECGAH pursues this goal by offering classes and workshops in the visual arts, organizing lectures sponsored by the Utah Humanities Council and supporting the annual Escalante Canyons Arts Festival - Everett Ruess Days. The group prints an "Arts & Crafts Guide" on a yearly basis. The bright orange guide details the work of individual artists and galleries, where their work can be seen and is available in local businesses.

− Sculptured Studio Furniture: organic, ergonomic designs laminated in wood
− Gallery displays Primitive Pottery, petrified wood, dinosaur bone, rock art tiles and hand knapped knives
Born in New York, David created "Sculptured Furniture" for 20 years in Berlin, Germany, where his unique functional art was exhibited internationally. The sculptured, flowing forms of his ergonomic wood furniture, created by laminating, chain sawing and sanding, found natural counterparts in rock formations of canyon country when moving to Escalante in 1996. Recipient of the 2002 Utah Arts Council Fellowship Award and the 2005 Individual Artists Grant, he exhibits daily at "Sculptured Furniture".
